PAN Celebrates Juneteenth
Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when enslaved people in Texas were finally informed of their freedom, marking the end of slavery in the United States. It is an important day to honor freedom, reflect on our history, and recognize the ongoing pursuit of equity and justice. It is also a time to come together as communities, learn, and celebrate resilience and progress.

In observance of the holiday, our office hours will be adjusted as noted below, so families can plan ahead.
- Friday, June 19th: The office will close early at 3:00 PM.
- Saturday, June 20th: The office will be open for urgent care from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
- Sunday, June 21st: The office will be open for urgent care from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
An on-call physician will be available for urgent issues. In the event of an emergency, please call 911 or visit your local emergency room.
Families who would like to learn more about Juneteenth and its history can visit the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture or explore a family-friendly overview from National Geographic Kids.
Massachusetts communities are celebrating Juneteenth with events across the state, including in Boston Juneteenth Events Page and locally in Taunton at the Taunton Diversity Network 6th Annual Cultural Fair & Juneteenth Celebration.
As a reminder, don’t forget that Sunday is Father’s Day—a special time to recognize and appreciate the fathers and caregivers who support, guide, and care for our children every day.
From our PAN family to yours, we wish you a safe, meaningful, and enjoyable weekend!
